This was amazing, and while I initially thought the different artists for each story would be jarring, a quick perusal proves that each artist brings their own style and atmosphere to a story. The writing is also stellar, and it all works together very well.

Thanks. I try hard to match the artist with the story to make sure they will have the right feel and often rewrite the script after the art is done to make everything match even better. It's a lot of work, but hopefully it shows in the finished product!

I love the idea for this anthology. Tempts me to write a short story of the kind myself. :)

You should. Shorts can be tough (especially if you are used to writing longer stuff), but once you get used to it they are a lot of fun.

I like what went on here... we have a story that could easily be dismissed by researchers as undeveloped humans trying to explain a volcanic eruption... but the tale is complicated by this massive underwater sculpture dated to a culture that wouldn't have the technology to make it... I like it.

Thanks! The idea of the statue and Easter Island stuff came after I thought of the story of the god rising out of a volcano, but I thought it would make an interesting framing device. The idea of the old man telling the story came even later, but seemed to really fit.

Just the right amount of terror, destruction, and mystery. I love when stories don't give a straight answer at the end. You've matched the artist to the story well. I'll continue to keep reading these stories!

This is hands down one of the best short story comics I've ever read, kudos to the storywriter/artist team!

This god so destructive, but I feel sad for him too, he'll never reach his new home D:

Not a very SMART god.
buffylove 17th Apr 2016, 10:49 AM edit delete reply
Really, he isn't supposed to be a god the way we think of gods. He's more an ancient, powerful creature that the locals worshiped as a god.
